Lead IT Technician

Lomax Recruitment group is hiring a Lead IT Technician and IT Technician for our established London based business.

As a Lead IT Technician, you must have energy, enthusiasm and a passion for customer satisfaction. You will be very hands-on in a 2nd line role, dealing with computer software and hardware and a variety of applications, networks and operating systems. You will also need to be an excellent communicator with great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail. Your goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks whilst overseeing and leading a small friendly team of IT Analysts.

Some duties will include:

  • Support multiple customer sites remotely via phone and email.

  • Build and set up PC’s, laptops and necessary peripheral devices

  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications

  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems

  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and equipment.

  • Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance

  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems

  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule

  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders

  • Lead and motivate team members/Analysts.

Lead IT Technician technical skills required

  • Proven experience as IT Technician / 2nd Line Support

  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communicator and articulate

  • Willing to step into a leadership role and help oversee the team

  • Passionate about customer satisfaction

  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills

  • In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks

  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.

Tech stack that’s useful – Windows and Citrix environments, Exchange, O365, AD, Azure, MDM, telephone systems, basic networking, security, backups.

Salary

  • £30,000 - £35,000 + benefits include flexible working from home 2 days a week, private medical care.

  • £22k – £24 salary for Junior IT Technical / IT Analyst.

Location

  • Home-based 2 days/office 3 days.
